ASSA ABLOY teams up with premium car brand


ASSA ABLOY Australia recently teamed up with premium car manufacturer Audi to promote its most innovative technologies – Aperio™ and Hi-O™.

Audi’s premium automobile brand complements ASSA ABLOY’s own brands, which are premium within the security industry. The two recently partnered up for an event at Audi’s new showroom in Sydney to demonstrate and promote their latest innovations.

“Audi has a strong brand that stands for innovation,” says Michael Söderberg, Electronic Access Control Business Manager. “The essence of their brand is ‘Advancement through Technology’ which is exactly the message we want to communicate through our Aperio and Hi-O technologies.”

The event was the latest in a series of events that ASSA ABLOY Australia held in the showrooms of premium car brands such as Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. Söderberg says that the intention of the event was to provide an exciting and unusual venue for guests, increase participation and strengthen the overall impact of the key messages.

“We were able to get the message out to many of the key decision makers and key influencers in Australia,” Michael says. “We showed our Aperio and Hi-O solutions integrated with several of the leading access control systems on the Australian market, building the confidence that we are ready to take these end-to-end solutions to the market.”

And there is no better witness to that readiness than the car industry itself, which has a very strong connection to Hi-O technology, also featured at the event.

Michael says: “All the benefits the car industry experienced in the late 80’s when it introduced CAN technology – the communication technology used by Hi-O – we can now offer as added value in our own industry with, for example, plug-and-play, self-diagnostics, and reduced cabling/weight. Representatives from the car industry can deliver this message with more credibility than anyone else.”
