A mobile innovation showroom debuts /Global/Press-and-News/News/2009/Innovation-truck-524x224.jpg The new ASSA ABLOY Mobile Innovation Showroom made its public debut at the Door and Hardware Institute annual convention in Orlando, Florida where—for a few days, at least—it joined the area’s world-famous theme parks as a must-see attraction. The DHI convention was the first truck stop on the “Innovation Super Highway” road tour that will make its way across the country. Hundreds of convention goers lined up at various intervals September 15-18 for a guided tour of a tractor trailer that has been converted into a traveling display of the latest security, life-safety, aesthetic, energy efficient and Green product innovations from ASSA ABLOY. “Our ASSA ABLOY Mobile Innovation Showroom was by far the biggest attraction of the convention,” said Sean McGrath, director of marketing for ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions. “One of our objectives for the showroom is to reach out to customers and show them how our new products are transforming the industry. Every one of the 600-plus people that walked through came out with a clear understanding and full support for our market strategy. The showroom tells a story that’s easy to understand.” “I’m really in awe of the products in here,” said end-user, Seth Posner, as he stopped for a moment to tinker with the YALE In-Touch touch screen lockset. “I haven’t seen anything like this before.” After Florida, the truck will return to the ASSA ABLOY Americas headquarters in New Haven, Connecticut for a Board of Directors meeting, an Open House for local municipal building project influencers and then resume its journey across the country.
