Challenge
Founded in 1947, Hochtaunus Baugenossenschaft eG is one of the largest housing providers in Germany’s Hochtaunus district with around 5,500 members. From the outset, it has pursued the goal of offering attractive housing at fair terms. The cooperative currently offers apartments in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, Oberursel, Kronberg and Königstein. Of the 2,640 apartments managed, 2,498 are owned by the housing cooperative. The new residential property “Am Hühnerstein” comprises 16 modern four-room apartments in two environmentally friendly buildings. For this property, the cooperative was looking for a locking solution that can be managed flexibly, require little maintenance and at the same time meets high security requirements.
Solution
The company opted for the IKON eCLIQ electronic locking system. With a single key, residents can access multiple entry points – from the building entrance and their apartment door to letterboxes, garages and waste rooms. The system is tamper-proof, and battery-free cylinders can be easily installed and integrated into the building structure. A standard battery in the reversible key supplies the power required. This means that tenants can enter the building as usual even in the event of a power failure. Access rights can be controlled centrally and flexibly via the CLIQ® Web Manager software. Administrators can limit authorisations in terms of time or space, block keys or issue new authorisations, so that tradespeople or service providers, for example, are granted specific access and only for certain periods of time. When users or tenants change, the risk of unauthorised key copies is significantly reduced and lost keys are no longer a problem.
