Smart ECO Automation

Automatic doors with traditional radar that open every time someone is passing by, without entering. In areas where large numbers of people are moving on a daily basis such as malls or supermarkets, this can be a problem. It causes loss of energy and impacts the indoor environment in a negative way.

ASSA ABLOY Besam has developed a one-directional impulse device, an ECO-radar, which senses in what direction pedestrians are moving. The door will open automatically only if a pedestrian is walking towards it, not passing. The system has an ensured safety zone of 200 mm before it closes.

By installing the ECO-radar on new or existing door systems, the door opens halve the time compared to when using conventional radars. It gives improved energy efficiency. It also improves indoor climate, which further reduces energy costs as well as negative environmental impact.
Usually a customer sees payback of changing to the ECO-radar within one year, even sooner if the ECO-radar is installed from the beginning. Several customers have confirmed energy savings from using the ECO-radar.
