Donations of locksets to Habitat for Humanity set to continue

ASSA ABLOY’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity has been extended for an additional five years thanks to a renewed pledge worth USD 5 million to donate locksets from Yale Locks & Hardware.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit organization that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action worldwide.

The five-year commitment that commenced in January 2011 will result in the donation of interior and exterior locks and keys for homes built with Habitat for Humanity homeowner partners and volunteers. To date Yale has provided more than 550,000 locks, valued at more than USD 12 million, to Habitat for Humanity affiliates – primarily in the United States, but also in Mexico and in the Asia Pacific region.

“Habitat for Humanity is honored to partner with Yale as we work with families to build safe, decent, affordable homes,” said Larry Gluth, vice president of US and Canada for Habitat for Humanity International. “We are pleased to provide Yale’s donated products to Habitat affiliates throughout the US.”
