New luxury hotel first to use Graham Sketch Door /Global/Press-and-News/News/2010/Fairmont%20hotel%20524x224.jpg Graham Wood Doors’ newly launched Sketch Door™ was the door of choice in the recently opened luxury Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The custom wood door design was an instrumental part of the Fairmont Hotel design, which provides an inviting, yet modern space for its guests. Graham’s Sketch Door is a flush wood door alternative to traditional stile and rail doors. By mixing and matching different wood species and grain directions, Sketch Doors provide high-end visual appeal at a more economical price and can be constructed with a wide range of core materials from fire rated mineral to eco-friendly Agrifiber. With approximately 800 door openings, the architects of the Fairmont Pittsburgh chose a Rift Oak custom design featuring a Walnut inlay. Finished with a dark custom color, these unique doors were a challenging first order that Graham delivered on. “Graham came through and performed on this important project, giving the architect, contractor and building owner exactly what they wanted,” said Mike Wojnarowski, president of Builder’s Hardware, the ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions distributor partner on this project. “Graham’s hard work and focus on this project really paid off for everyone involved. Graham would be my first choice for any project requiring this kind of custom design.” The Fairmont Pittsburgh is housed in Three PNC Plaza, one of the largest mixed-use buildings to be certified by the U. S. Green Building Council in accordance with its LEED rating system. Graham’s Sketch Doors helped contribute valuable credits toward the building’s rating, for which Fairmont Pittsburgh expects to achieve LEED Gold certification yet this year.
