New Delhi International Airport has chosen ASSA ABLOY India to fit its new Terminal Three facilities (T3), to be completed by 2010, with ANSI Grade hardware from the USA.

The hardware will be supplied by OEM partners, M/s Shakti Met Dor, the metal door package contractors.

The brand-new Terminal Three facilities at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India, will accommodate 90 per cent of the airport’s passengers, making it the third largest terminal in the world.

The terminal is currently in the first phase of construction, and its 2,500 doors – including steel and fire doors – will be fitted with ANSI/BHMA-approved hardware from Sargent, Norton, McKinney, Pemko, Markar, Rockwood, Adams Rite, Folger Adams, Securitron and Rixson. The contract is worth USD 1.8 million.

“This prestigious project will show other potential customers that ASSA ABLOY is the clear market leader when it comes to such large-scale projects in India,” says Martin Brandt, President of ASSA ABLOY APAC.

The New Delhi Airport expansion project is a joint venture consortium of GMR Group Airports Authority of India, Fraport & Eraman Malaysia and IDF.
