Holger Lembrér

ASSA ABLOY AB, Sweden

The ASSA ABLOY Group has sales of SEK 68 billion and 46,000 employees. The Group Center is located in Stockholm, Sweden.

Financial Controller

As financial controller for the ASSA ABLOY Group, Holger Lembrér relishes working with figures. In calculating the company’s KPIs, he also gains a clear insight into how the Group is performing.

Holger’s tasks involve being a team leader for the controlling team at the head office in Stockholm.

“We work mainly with following up the operational results from a financial standpoint for the Group and calculating all the KPIs (key performance indicators) on a Group level,” he says, adding that his team collaborates extensively with other divisions within ASSA ABLOY to improve the Group’s KPIs.“This is so we can deliver and explain our numbers to the external market and to our executives at the head office.”

In the five years that he has been at ASSA ABLOY, Holger has always appreciated being able to work in an area close to his heart.

“My job is very exciting because I’m working with numbers, and I’ve always really enjoyed working with numbers,” he says. “It’s a little bit like magic because we’re actually telling a true story about how things are going and how we’re performing. It’s a hard fact on everybody’s performance.” Holger is also very appreciative of his work colleagues.

“I think they’re all very dedicated, extremely professional and always trying to support each other,” he says. “In finance, it’s particularly important to help each other, so we can meet our extremely hard deadlines.”

Holger will soon be leaving Stockholm and relocating to Hong Kong, where he will work with the finance team in ASSA ABLOY’s APAC division.

“I think that will be a great experience for me,” he says. “And in the long term, I think it will make it easier for me in my job as a financial controller at head office because I’ll have a much better understanding of the kind of situations and issues they might face as financial controllers in China or Hong Kong.”
