Production Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Support the E-Coat line production by supervising processes, equipment and personnel and accounting for all production and quality of the production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Meet with and work with scheduling, Planning, Shipping and Rackable weld center Supervisors and inventory control daily to assess needs to support today and future production.

  • Review performance and attendance of line employees and foremen, Document performance and disciplinary actions.

  • Create and report prescribed Metrics daily weekly and monthly.

  • Produce product of exceptional quality by implementing QA approach to meeting company production objectives.

  • Plan and assign daily tasks geared toward meeting daily schedule and departmental goals to area employees.

  • Turn in daily receiving accurately and on time.

  • Review materials needs daily and notify manager of shortfalls in product and materials at least one day in advance of day's production.

  • Actively participate in process improvement projects geared toward cost savings in labor and materials.

  • Organize and plan for on-line packaging situations and make requests for additional manpower where needed at least two hours prior to production.

Education: 

  • A college degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Four years of experience in a position of similar responsibility in manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow needs.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.

Other:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance and twist as needed.

  • Ability to tolerate hot and cold work environment

  • Strong documentation skills, reporting skills and computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to think and react quickly to changing situations and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Ability to be a contributing and collaborative team member.
