Abloy secures Swedbank head office in Vilnius

Swedbank’s head office in Vilnius, Lithuania – to be finished this year – has locks supplied by ABLOY.

In the Baltic countries, 2005 was a year of strong growth, and one bank after another initiated grandiose building projects to promote their image. The Swedish bank Swedbank had earlier built a new head office in Tallinn, Estonia, where Abloy had played an important role in supplying products to secure the building project. Abloy also had a strong position as a locking system provider for head offices and branch offices of other banks in the Baltic states.

There were several suppliers competing for the project of the new head office. The local Abloy sales office offered a complete package from planning to installation, in cooperation with Tectum, an ABLOY authorized locksmith firm, and a system supplier that specializes in access control and security systems. This combination of products and services formed a total package to fulfill the customer’s requirements.

At the same time, the Abloy sales office in Lithuania worked determinedly with Swedbank’s security managers both in Vilnius and in Tallinn.

“We were able to use the Estonian project as a reference. There we had managed to convince the customer about the quality of our services and products, and Swedbank’s security managers in Estonia and Lithuania communicated closely with each other,” says Rolandas Bairasauskas, regional sales manager for Lithuania.

“This was even more important as the builder tried to find budget alternatives for the locks. Without the customer sticking to ABLOY, the products could still have been switched at the last moment.”
