VERSO CLIQ secures Italian railway /Global/Press-and-News/News/2010/Italian-Railway-Verso-CLIQ-case524x224.jpg With an ASSA ABLOY master key system to secure technical areas at all stations, Italy’s railways are safe and secure along the country’s new high-speed rail corridor. Italy’s high-speed rail network is the biggest engineering project in post-war Italy. Since December 2009, Turin and Salerno are connected through the new rail corridor, with more than 1,000 km of track along the busiest national route: Turin-Milan-Bologna-Florence-Rome-Naples-Salerno. The project includes the renovation of all the stations en route. Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), the body responsible for the track, the stations and the installations, chose the VERSO CLIQ master key system to secure the technical areas at all stations. VERSO CLIQ is already in place between Milan and Bologna and the installation on the route between Bologna and Florence is underway. The products installed so far are around 650 VERSO electronic and mechanical cylinders and over 1,000 VERSO E2 and E3 and mechanical “guest” keys. The technical department of RFI, located in Bologna Central Station, is very satisfied with the solution. “We made the right choice with the VERSO CLIQ system, which is working perfectly and is meeting our expectations,” says an RFI spokesperson. The project is being handled by the Italian ASSA ABLOY partner Tecnosicurezza SrL Verona.
