Foreign power increasing
Dagens Industri, 18/1172006
Foreign owners are continuing to increase their influence on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The amount of foreign ownership has increased from 35 percent to 38 percent this year. ASSA ABLOY is one of the companies with the greatest increase in foreign share ownership: from 41 percent to 53 percent.
"One could probably say that we are back on a more normal level following a period when foreign ownership declined. One of the reasons is probably that we have a new CEO whom the investors like. It is always good to have people interested in the share. When there are only Swedish investors, there is a tendency to force the share price down," says the head of investor relations at ASSA ABLOY, Martin Hamner. Peter Malmqvist, head analyst at Nordnet, sees the increase as a warning signal, however.
