ASSA ABLOY acquires door manufacturer

ASSA ABLOY acquires the Italian door manufacturer Gardesa, which has a turnover of 45 million euro and employs about 200 persons. Gardesa manufactures reinforced doors, both standardized and customer-adapted versions. Most of the products are sold via the company's distribution network in Italy, but about 25 per cent are sold to other markets in Europe, Africa and Asia. The acquisition is supposed to be closed by the end of June 2008 and will affect profit per share positively from then, according to ASSA ABLOY.
