Olympic gold for ASSA ABLOY
From major sporting venues to accommodation centers, ASSA ABLOY Group companies are playing a key role in securing the Beijing Olympic Games.
The national stadium, aquatic center and the hotel attached to the Olympic Green Convention Center will all use ASSA ABLOY solutions.
Honeywell, the electronics contractor for the new stadium, also known as the Bird Nest Project, has appointed ASSA ABLOY as its door opening solution provider having assessed V-Lock from Trimec as the solution best meeting its needs.
At the aquatic center, ASSA ABLOY will team with Siemens to provide magnetic locking solutions for electronic doors in the building.
And not far from the sporting action, each of the 950 rooms at the hotel at the Olympic Green Convention Center – which will be used as the media and broadcast center and house indoor events such as shooting – will be secured by VingCard Elsafe’s electronic door locks.
Philip Yeung, head of sales at ASSA ABLOY China, says the decision by three separate suppliers to choose ASSA ABLOY products to meet the varied needs of vastly different environments, highlights the depth of the Group’s offering.
“The chance to establish a name in this emerging market, as well as the prestige of being part of such an important global event, has made the competition to be part of Olympic projects particularly fierce,” Yeung says. “Our success is based on our high-quality, reliable products and solutions, teamed with ASSA ABLOY’s business know-how and reputation for leading-edge technology.”
