Logic Prescribed for Pain Management Doctor
How does a simple rekeying job at a chiropractor's office turn into helping a doctor meet FDA regulations? Ask Dean Higgins of Anthony Lock and Safe in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Higgins went to the office of a South Florida chiropractor and pain management doctor expecting just a simple rekeying job. What he found, however, was a customer who would benefit greatly from using Medeco Logic.
"This particular doctor's office stocks narcotics because they treat patients who are in pain," Higgins explains. "We went out to rekey the facility and talked with the doctor about Logic. Once we showed him the audit capabilities he'd have when using this product, he was sold."
Due to FDA regulations and periodic audits, it was important for the doctor to demonstrate that he maintained strict access control to the medication storage room. "On this particular job, there was just one door to the medicine storage room but three people with access," Higgins says. "Because it was a Dutch door with the top half open during the day and the bottom half secured, we installed both a storeroom function lock and a deadbolt."
The doctor has five other office locations and already committed to installation of Logic at the second office and is evaluating the need to install it at the remaining three locations.
"This doctor's situation has really opened my eyes to other potential customers within the health care industry who would benefit from all that Logic has to offer," Higgins says.
Higgins skill with matching customers' security needs with Medeco products doesn't come as any surprise to Linda Varnadore, Territory Manager for Medeco. "Dean is doing an incredible job. He's really taken the bull by the horns when it comes to Logic and is having great success with it."
With that knowledge, this is probably the first of many jobs where both Higgins and his customer will find that Logic is just what the doctor ordered.
