HID Global leadership recognized in global awards

The breadth of HID’s technology offering has been recognized with three new honors, including a prominent ranking in the A&S Magazine list of industry movers and shakers.

The tributes started with the A&S Magazine’s ranking of the world’s Top 50 security brands. HID Global, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, took second place in the search for “the most active, influential and thriving companies.”

HID Global improved its rank from last year’s third, in what is its fourth consecutive entry in the top 10 of the list.

“The A&S Top 50 list is the result of exhaustive research and is highly regarded within the industry,” explains June Colagreco, Vice President, Marketing Communications, HID Global. “Being included on this list reflects a company’s leadership in the industry. Our number two ranking confirms our commitment to innovation, reliability and quality, and is a strong indication that our entire portfolio of products, technologies and services is very well regarded.”

Also in August, HID Global’s IP-based access solution EDGE, was named the Best New Access Control Product in the Indian Security Today awards.

Billed as honoring “the unsung heroes” of the protection industry, the Security Today awards are given in recognition of excellent products, business and professionals.

EDGE is a new open-architecture, IP-based platform of solutions that bridge the gap between IT and physical security. It gives cost-effective, full-featured access-control infrastructure and contactless smart card capability at “the edge” of the network, whether for a single door or thousands.

Another HID Global product that solves customer needs, Crescendo, has been named one of Access Control & Security Systems Top 20 new products of 2007.

Crescendo effectively allows a single smart card to be used to access both a company’s physical environment and its IT network.

Also making the list is the HDP5000 card printer/encoder, from Fargo Electronics, part of HID Global.

“When you look carefully at the list of top 20 products, you see that six rely on technology from HID Global,” Colagreco says. “We are very proud to have been able to support our customers in this way, helping them to succeed in their specific fields. Listening to our customer’s needs and developing solutions to their challenges is a cornerstone of our business strategy – one that is clearly showing results.”

On-line voting is currently underway to determine the final order of the Top 20 new products. The ranking will be announced in the December issue of Access Control & Security System. You can vote for HID’s Crescendo solution here.
