ASSA ABLOY wins big in Australia

ASSA ABLOY Australia has won the 2007 Swedish Business in Australia Award for its great achievement in raising the Swedish profile in Australia.

Mikael Friberg, from the Swedish Australian Chamber of Commerce (SACC), presented the award to Ness Huseyin, Public Relations and Communications Manager at ASSA ABLOY Asia Pacific, in front of a record crowd in Melbourne during the week.

Friberg said ASSA ABLOY was an excellent example of a most successful Swedish-Australian company and paid tribute to the company for various initiatives – both community-based and corporate – that set it apart.

“ASSA ABLOY Australia is a shining example of a successful Swedish-Australian partnership,” Friberg said.

There are many examples of the strong association between Australia and Sweden. For instance, Future Lab a forum of ideas, concepts and revolutionary conceptual thinking from a community of primarily Swedish key influencers, has been delivered to the Australian market, enabling access to reports about groundbreaking technology developed within the ASSA ABLOY Group, and beyond.

Another example of the working partnership was ASSA ABLOY Australia’s sponsorship of Glen Greer, Vice President Shared Technologies of ASSA ABLOY to visit Australia as key-note speaker at the
Australian Security Industry Association Ltd (ASIAL) Conference in July 2007.

The company’s commitment to community sponsorships such as the Henley-on-Todd, and commitment to external partnerships such as its continuing role as a ‘Supporting Corporate Partner’ of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) have proved worthy.

National travelling product launches and participation in major trade events and sponsorship of industry organisations and competitions have also been powerful profiling building initiatives.
The opening of the redeveloped manufacturing site in Melbourne in 2006 was widely recognised as a positive step by ASSA ABLOY Australia because it offered continuing employment opportunities and investment in local manufacturing.
