Reliable solution for explosive environments

People working in dangerous environments can lock their doors without fearing an explosion, providing they have installed ASSA ABLOY's VERSO CLIQ system.

The system, produced by Ikon, part of ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH, now comes with explosion protection certification.

Alexander Kroll, the responsible mechatronic Product Manager, says the certified system will be particularly attractive to energy providers, the chemical industry, public utilities companies, research centers and any other organization working in a potentially explosive environment.

"It is important that electrical media, such as locking systems, do not represent a source of ignition in potentially explosive atmospheres if hazards to people, plant and the environment are to be avoided," Alexander says. "We have achieved this with VERSO CLIQ."

Only a few systems on the market meet the extremely demanding criteria necessary for true explosion protection. This certification further enhances the VERSO CLIQ system, which combines mechanical and electronic features to provide flexibility and added security in the case of lost keys or employee changes.
