Online training modules is a great way to take courses. ASSA ABLOY offers its employees an employee training program.
From an ASSA ABLOY perspective, the online training program is cost-effective, and having a common management language and practices across ASSA ABLOY’s divisions are helpful for cross-division transfers if people are trained in the same practices globally.
For the employees online training brings a number of benefits.
Arild Aastad, vice president, Key Accounts VingCard Elsafe, Norway, attended the online training modules and took the courses Essentials of Performance Management, Setting Performance Expectations and Reviewing Performance Progress.
“Although an online course is limited in its ability to offer classroom-style two-way communication, the feedback on performance is consistent throughout the course, allowing you to apply what you are supposed to have learned more successfully,” Arild Aastad says.
One advantage of the courses, he says, is that you can complete them at your own pace – in his case, roughly two hours per course.
While technology allows self-directed learning to take place at your computer, web-based training alone cannot replace the human aspect. By using a blended learning approach, employees are also able to participate in “learning labs” to engage and interact with their peers and practice newly acquired skills in small group sessions via webcasts. The guidance, coaching and peer feedback they receive in this virtual environment is valuable and further supports their development. Are you interested to come and work with us?
