ASSA ABLOY's CrescendoTM Smart Card has earned the "Works With Windows Vista" logo
ASSA ABLOY, and its
business unit HID Global, today announced that its CrescendoTM
smart cards offer a Windows Smart Card Framework Minidriver.
Crescendo cards also work with all physical access control
systems.
Crescendo C200 has been tested for baseline
compatibility with PCs running the Windows Vista operating system
and earned the "Works with Windows Vista" logo. It is also
certified for use with Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows
Server 2003.
Any organization can now conveniently and
cost-effectively deploy one single credential for both logical and
physical access control applications.
"By incorporating the Windows Smart Card
minidriver into our standard offering, customers can now trust HID
to provide reliable and secure access in both the logical and
physical worlds," said Denis Hébert, Head of HID Global and
Executive Vice President, ASSA ABLOY.
''I am extremely proud that HID Global, world
leader in access control and secure issuance, has met the stringent
requirements of Microsoft's certification program. With Crescendo,
we have found a way to economically provide a logical access
solution that takes advantage of the security-enhanced features
provided by Microsoft's operating systems," said Johan Molin,
President and CEO of the ASSA ABLOY Group.
